MIEMAS (Manitoba Immigrant Excellence Merit Awards)

The Immigrant Excellence Awards (MIEMAS) is a flagship AIDCOM Inc. initiative created to celebrate and recognize the outstanding achievements and contributions of African immigrants and diverse communities in Manitoba.
This community-driven program honors individuals who demonstrate excellence in entrepreneurship, education, community service, arts, leadership, and more. By shining a spotlight on these contributions, AIDCOM fosters cultural pride, inspires future generations, and strengthens Manitoba’s multicultural identity.

Newcomer Cultural Orientation & Tourism Experience

The Newcomer Cultural Orientation & Tourism Experience is a signature AIDCOM Inc. program designed to introduce newcomers to Manitoba’s diverse cultural landscape and Indigenous heritage.
By addressing social isolation and creating opportunities for connection, this initiative helps newcomers feel a stronger sense of belonging while learning about the province’s history, traditions, and multicultural communities.

What We Do

Guided Cultural Tours

Visits to important cultural sites, including the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, Indigenous heritage locations, and immigrant-led community hubs.

Storytelling Sessions

Indigenous Elders and immigrant leaders share cultural journeys, migration experiences, and traditions with participants.

Interactive Learning

Newcomers engage directly with Manitoba’s customs, languages, and traditions, fostering cultural appreciation and exchange.

The Multicultural Heritage Festival & Language Showcase is a signature initiative of AIDCOM Inc., designed to celebrate, preserve, and promote the languages, traditions, and cultural heritage of Manitoba’s richly diverse ethnocultural communities.
By creating interactive platforms for cultural expression and intergenerational learning, the program strengthens community pride, fosters inclusivity, and helps prevent language loss among newcomer families and youth.
